Bamin Khomami – President
An internationally recognized expert in the properties and behaviors of materials, Bamin Khomami has been directing research studies and teaching in the discipline for 30 years. Having earned the Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering at the University of Illinois, Dr. Khomami began his career in academia at Washington University. He later moved to the University of Tennessee where he holds the Granger and Beaman Distinguished University Chair and serves as Department Head of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and Director of the Sustainable Energy Education and Research Center. With his research findings widely published in technical journals, Dr. Khomami is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and also serves on the editorial boards of a number of professional journals and organizations. Most recently, Dr. Khomami’s research has focused on applications of a range of micro- and nano-structured materials as the Director of the Materials Research and Innovation Laboratory (MRAIL) at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
